Bilawal charts course for Pakistan's future in Lahore address

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday expressed his wholehearted desire to serve the common Pakistanis and announced a range of initiatives that his party plans to undertake once in power.
During an address in Lahore’s NA-127 constituency, Bilawal voiced his joy at celebrating the birth anniversary of party founder Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in Lahore.
He emphasised that ZA Bhutto had represented the common people of Pakistan, and reiterated that there was only one political party truly representing the nation.
Bilawal repeated his commitment to doubling salaries once in power, noting the current inadequacy of wages for survival in Pakistan. He promised to provide free electricity up to 300 units to the general populace.
Encouraging those present to become his ambassadors, Bilawal urged them to visit every household and inform people about his ten promises.
He underscored the significance of the financial assistance provided through the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), asserting that the PPP was the sole party responsible for its initiation.
Bilawal pledged to provide Benazir cards to labourers, Kisan cards to farmers, and Jawan cards to the youth, directly addressing the prevailing issues of poverty, inflation and unemployment.

He acknowledged the challenges of providing healthcare for the elderly, and expressed his intention to establish free hospitals.
He also pledged to create job opportunities and establish educational institutions.
Bilawal declared that he did not believe in the politics of hatred or mudslinging, and aimed to bury the politics of division and hatred.
Asked to comment on the passage of a resolution in the Senate calling for delay in the general elections, Bilawal said that the elections would take place on time.
Bilawal expressed confidence in Pakistan Peoples Party’s victory in the elections.
